New Pokey LaFarge Album to be Released by Third Man Records

We are incredibly delighted to announce the June 2013 release of the brand new, full-length studio album–Pokey LaFarge–under Jack White’s very own Third Man Records! As you may recall, back in 2011 we released a 7″ with the label and are thrilled to collaborate with them once again. Third Man Records are doing some extraordinary things and are dedicated to bringing the “tangible aesthetic” back to your music collection by concentrating on records that are recorded, pressed, and printed in their headquarters hometown of Nashville, Tennessee. We’re honored and excited to work with this unique label, one that is dedicated to preserving the vinyl format and encouraging folks to think differently about the way they consume music.

Revving up for the release of the new album, we have some excellent shows in store to help spread the word. First and foremost…

The Pokey LaFarge Spring & Summer 2013 Tour!

What better way to celebrate the new album than to travel all across the states snd Europe on a big ol’ album release tour? In April, you can find us around the fine Southeast states hitting the stage at some top notch venues and stellar festivals.

We’ll be hopping through a bunch of towns along the way, playing shows in Louisiana, Mississippi, Nashville, TN (at Loveless Cafe for a Music City Roots taping), Atlanta, GA (Smith’s Olde Bar with Paul Burch) and Wilmington, NC (Soapbox Laundro Lounge with Paul Burch). Around this time, we’ll also be taking the stage at some celebrated American festivals that we’re honored to be a part of. On April 28, you can catch us at Merlefest in Wilkesboro, NC and on May 2 at Jazz Fest in New Orleans!

In late spring, we’ll be holding not one, but two, album release parties! The first will be on May 31 in our hometown of St. Louis, MO at the Casa Loma Ballroom. The following day we’ll be heading out to Nashville, TN for the second release party on June 1 at The Blue Room, the performance space of Third Man Records!

After a run of US shows in June and July (many more to be announced soon!), we’ll be heading to Europe come August. There we’ll play a number of wonderful festivals as well, includingPukkelpop in Belgium (August 17), Musikfestwochen in Switzerland (August 19), Tonder in Denmark (August 22-25), and more…keep an eye out for new additions to our shcedule in Europe, coming soon!

Howdy Friends,

We hope y’all are staying warm this winter season and gearing up for the warmer months ahead! We’ve got some big announcements regarding our forthcoming studio album, so be sure to keep an ear out. Until then we will be doing a couple of weekend gigs around the Midwest, and easing back into the touring season. We’re feeling pretty excited about what’s coming down the line and can’t wait to let you know what we have in store!

A New Lineup for Spring…

We’re excited to announce that we have some additional band members coming on tour with us this year, as some of you may have seen in Moberly, Kansas City, and Hesston. We would like to take the time to introduce the talented Chloe Feoranzo (clarinet, saxophone) and T.J. Muller (trumpet). The sound from our new horn section is dynamic and really adds something special! We hope you can come out and see the fresh lineup, but in the meantime you can check out this photo of the six-piece in Moberly, MO (courtesy of Julian Davis):

Austin’s SxSW Just Around the Corner!

We’re really looking forward to our first appearance at South by Southwest this March down in Austin, Texas. SxSW is one of the biggest and baddest music fests in the country, and it’s an honor to have been invited. Our official SxSW showcase will be Thursday, March 14 at Esther’s Follies on Sixth Street in the heart of it all! We’ll also be performing at some after parties and other SxSW-related events…so if y’all are heading down be sure to stop by one of our shows.

A Slew of Gigs in February…

We are proud to announce a heap of new upcoming shows throughout the Midwest for the month of February. Starting February 21, we’ll be at The Bishop (Bloomington, IN), then at Radio Radio (Indianapolis, IN) on February 22. We’ll make a last pit stop at The Castle Theatre (Bloomington, IL) on February 23. For more details, check outwww.pokeylafarge.net/tour or see the full list of our tour dates at the bottom of this message.

Here, There, Everywhere! A Busy Spring Ahead…

We are excited to be out on the road touring all around the states and have just announced a whole bunch of shows for this April and May! We’ll be travelling through Mississippi, with gigs in Hattiesburg (The Thirsty Hippo) and Tupelo (The Blue Canoe) before stopping at Smith’s Olde Bar on April 25 (Atlanta, GA) and the Soapbox Laundro Lounge on April 26 (Wilmington, NC). We will also be playing at Callaghan’s Irish Social Club in Mobile, AL (voted Best Bar in America by Esquire Magazine!).

Just in time to see the California poppies bloom, we will be on the West Coast performing at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center (Long Beach, CA), Rickshaw Stop (San Francisco, CA), Fat Cat Music House (Modesto, CA), and Doug Fir Lounge (Portland, OR). Not all show announcements are included here, so be sure to visit the tour dates page of our official website.

Keep an ear out for us on the airwaves as we prepare to make our second appearance on Nashville’s Music City Roots this April as well! On April 24, our performance at Loveless Cafe that will be aired live at 7pm CT on www.rootsradio.com and WRLT Lightning 100. Mark your calendars and turn those dials–we’re happy we could make it back!

Don’t forget that we’ll be making the festival rounds this season as well! To start, we’ll be hitting up North Carolina’s Merlefest on April 28, as well as the infamous Jazz Fest in New Orleans on May 2! What began as a “spontaneous meeting of jazz and heritage”, is now one of the nation’s most reputable jazz festivals, and will host an incredible lineup in 2013. We’ll be heading back to the River City region to headline the Pedaler’s Jamboree (Booneville, MO) on May 25. Summer is on its way, so stay tuned for upcoming festival announcements!

Eddy Arnold tribute: You Don’t Know Me

Our bandleader recently had the pleasure of joining forces with Plowboy Records on a tribute album to the great country legend, Eddy Arnold. The album will be released May 14, and features a bunch of talented folks paying homage to one of country music’s greats. Have a look behind the scenes and catch a familiar face by clicking here.

New & Improved on YouTube

We’ve added some new video playlists to our YouTube channel, so go on and take a look at www.youtube.com/mrpokeylafarge. We’ve hand selected some of the best videos taken from this past year and have compiled them into one playlist for ya…enjoy!

We’ve got big things coming in the early part of 2013, so be sure to read our newsletter this month for more details on our upcoming touring, festival bookings, a bit about our forthcoming studio album, and more…either read on here at plf.net, or follow this link to check out the fancified version!

Howdy folks,

We hope your 2013 is off to a good start. We enjoyed the past year immensely, but we’ve already got lots of fun happenings planned for the new year. Read on for details of our upcoming touring, some big festival bookings and new things on the horizon…

A jaunt through the Midwest, then on to South by Southwest!

We are excited to be spending a handful cold, February nights on tour–and in our old stomping grounds, too! Our tour kicks off in Moberly, MO on February 8, and from there we’ll be travelling around Missouri, Kansas, Indiana and Illinois. Be sure to come out and say hello if you can…we’re trying out some new things with our live shows in February and you won’t want to miss them (hint: there will be a few more folks up on stage!). Check out the tour dates page on pokeylafarge.net for all the details.

After our sweep through the Midwest, we’ll be having our first go-around at Austin, Texas’ infamous South by Southwest Festival! The fest encompasses music, film and more; the music portion runs from March 12-17…stay tuned for more details as they come. We will be announcing specific showcase times and dates as they come in!

We’ll also be selling some brand new merchandise starting at our February gigs…there will be a couple of new tee-shirt designs (and some other fun stuff as well!). The new designs will also be available for sale in the online store of our official website in the near future.

Stay tuned for big announcements on our new full-length album!

What better way to start off the new year than with some fresh material and a new album? We’re making great progress on the record and have wrapped up in the studio. We’re incredibly proud of the work we’ve done and can’t wait for y’all to hear it!

Keep this on your radar, folks; there are some exciting announcements regarding the new record coming soon that you won’t want to miss…

Springtime is festival time…

Come April, we’ll be rip-roaring around the South and Midwest performing at a few of our nation’s most beloved festivals. In the end of April we will be heading to the mountains of North Carolina for an appearance at Merlefest in Wilkesboro. The festival, started by the legendary Doc Watson, offers a mixture of traditional and contemporary roots music that spans across genres and generations… a blend that Doc himself coined “traditional plus.”

Our next stop will be the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Better known plainly and simply as Jazz Fest, this festival encompasses every style of music associated with the city and state – blues, R&B, gospel, Cajun, zydeco, Afro-Caribbean, folk, Latin, rock, rap, country, and bluegrass (just to name a few). We’re definitely looking forward to playing in the Big Easy with many of the musicians we admire!

We will end the month of May headlining at the Pedaler’s Jamboree in Missouri, greeting bicyclists at the end of a two day journey along the Katy Trail. Not an avid cycler? Don’t you fret. You can just meet us at Boonville’s Kemper Park where we will be leading the festivities with the Hillbenders.

Live in Holland LP Receives ‘Best of 2012′ Nod

It was an honor to hear that our most recent record Live in Holland made it onto Uprooted Music Revue’s Best of 2012list. Seeing our album placed alongside these top-notch artists was humbling. Live in Holland was recorded in April 2012 at the legendary Dutch venue Paradiso in Amsterdam (and is still available for purchase at pokeylafarge.net). If you haven’t already done so, be sure to give it a listen. That show was certainly a highlight of our European excursions this past year and we are glad to have it out for our friends and fans to hear.

Thanks to all for a wonderful NYE in Nashville!

What a great time we had on our New Years Eve trip to Nashville. In a short couple of days, we went on air with the legendary WSM 650 AM and played to a sold out Ryman Auditorium, opening for Old Crow Medicine Show. Thanks to everyone who made it out, and for those of you who couldn’t grab tickets in time or live out of reach, we’ve included some of our favorite photos from our year’s end below!

Well folks, the year is almost over and we can hardly believe everything that’s happened in 2012. We’ve put together a special edition of our monthly newsletter for y’all, wrapping up the busy and exciting year we’ve had and reflecting on the stand out moments from the past twelve months. Read on below, or click here for the December 2012 newsletter with all the bells and whistles!

Hello, good people of the world, music lovers, fans and friends: thanks for all your support. Before we begin with this final newsletter of the year, I want to send a shout out to the team of hardworking folks who help us make these newsletters and our online presence possible. We all hope you’ve enjoyed reading about our travels and experiences this year.

Reading over things I’ve done with my boys from the past year makes my head hurt a little bit. Thankfully, I love writing and playing music, travelling and meeting people or else I wouldn’t feel so thankful for this year. Not only am I grateful for this year, I guarantee I’ll be working doubly hard to make sure I see everyone who wants to see me at least once next year. If perchance I miss some of you, we’ll hope for the year that’s coming right after that.

I work hard to give something back to the world, hopefully leaving something positive and tangible when I go. My music, just like life continues to grow and move forward. If you know me then you know that there will always be changes being made. Whatever it takes to make the music better. I’m going for it and we’ll get there together, wherever that is.

Joining In With Jack

We were intrigued and excited when we first started working with Jack White, and it humbles us to look back on all of the opportunities we’ve had collaborating with him. In the early part of the year, we laid down backing vocals and instrumentation for the song “I Guess I Should Go To Sleep” which was released on Mr. White’s debut solo album Blunderbuss in April.

The fun didn’t stop there, though…our summer was peppered with quite a few tour dates opening for Jack on his North American tour, including our first go-around at amazing venues like Radio City Music Hall and Red Rocks Amphitheater. Performing in Tulsa, Oklahoma at Cain’s Ballroom (home of the infamous Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys!) was beyond incredible and nothing short of a dream come true. Also, the liveliness of the crowd in Montreal was definitely a highlight of the experience as well—thanks for the energy, y’all! Check out some of the best photos from the road on the Blunderbuss tour below:

A Summer of Festivals…

We can’t think of much better a way to spend the summer months than blazing trails through the North American continent for some really swell festivals! In the past, we’ve had the chance to play some great ones, like the Newport Folk Festival, but we had a lot of awesome first time fest appearances in 2012.

In the states, we were glad to be a part of the Philadelphia Folk Festival, which has been going strong for over fifty years now! We also had a blast at Whispering Beard Folk Festival, Sisters Folk Festival, Fayetteville Roots Festival and Green River Festival.

Having not spent much time in Canada before this year, it was a treat to see so many parts of the country (and, you know, play a few songs here and there while we were at it!). We made our way to Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Regina Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival and Dawson City Music Festival! In Dawson City, we took a bit of time to explore the local culture (and the breathtaking scenery, wow!)…take a look at some of our favorite photos from the trip below!

A New Album Release

We hit another milestone when we released a new album, which became available worldwide this autumn! Live in Holland holds a special place in our hearts; the audio, taken from a show at Paradiso in Amsterdam, does a swell job of capturing the special environment we strive to create each and every time we perform. Visit our online store to purchase the album, whether for your own enjoyment or for a holiday gift. Either way, we hope you’ll get your toes tapping to Live in Holland.

Two Amazing Trips to Europe

Our fans across the pond have always treated us well and have proved to be some of the most energetic audiences we’ve had the honor to play for. We were so glad we could fit in not one, but two European tours in 2012! In March and April, we had a lengthy run of shows through Ireland, the UK, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark and Austria. It was a rowdy time with bunches of sold out shows, and we have our stop at Paradiso in Amsterdam to thank for the Live in Holland recording!

The spring tour went incredibly well, so we were inspired to take our tunes back to Europe this fall! We spent a great couple of weeks in October travelling through the Netherlands, France, the UK and Ireland. Our set at KOKO in London was certainly a highlight, so thanks to everyone who made it out and got movin’! This trip also marked our first visit to France; we had gigs in both Nancy and Paris and had a blast meeting our French fans and taking in what their homeland has to offer.

We can’t wait to make the trek across the Atlantic again—be sure to keep up with our tour dates on pokeylafarge.net (or subscribe to our tour date RSS feed!) for the latest updates on our show schedule.

Studio Time for Boardwalk Empire

The HBO series Boardwalk Empire, set in New Jersey during the American Prohibition era, invited our bandleader Mr. LaFarge to chip in to the third season’s tremendous soundtrack this year! The show, produced by Martin Scorsese and starring the likes of Steve Buscemi, has been a favorite among audiences and critics alike since its debut…what an honor!

Not to mention, the song featured (“Lovesick Blues”) was a collaborative effort with a true jazz and bandleading great—Vince Giordano—and his orchestra, The Nighthawks. The track appeared on the second episode of season three, “Spaghetti & Coffee”, which aired this past September.

Bookended by BIG New Years Eve Shows!

We had the extreme honor of joining some top notch musicians on Jools Holland’s annual New Years Eve special,Hootenanny, to ring in the beginning of 2012. The show aired on BBC 2 and its lineup included Aloe Blaac, James Morrison, Cyndi Lauper, Ruby Turner, Sandie Shaw and many other talented folks. This experience was wonderfully fun and we were humbled to be a part of such a popular, well-respected program! Follow this link for a video of our performance on Hootenanny.

As for welcoming 2013, we’ve got another great event in the works! This New Years, we’ll be keeping it domestic—our friends Old Crow Medicine Show have invited us to join them in concert at the Ryman Auditorium! This legendary venue is an honor to play in its own right, as the site of the original Grand Ole Opry show and a truly iconic space in American music history. One of our most cherished shows was the first time we played the Ryman when we opened for The Raconteurs…we’re very excited to return to Nashville and celebrate the arrival of 2013!

My, what a time this year has been; we’re so thankful to have the opportunity to travel the world, spreading what we love to do to folks who are so supportive of our music. Reflecting on the past year reminds us of how far we’ve come, and more importantly, that none of it would have been possible (or nearly as fun!) without our awesome fans at home and abroad.

There are sure to be exciting happenings in the New Year (be on the look out for a brand new, full-length studio album!), so keep up with our shows and latest news on Facebook, Twitter and pokeylafarge.net. Thanks so much for another amazing twelve months—and here’s to an even better 2013.

Happy Holidays, and see you down the road!

Howdy friends,

After a festival-packed summer, traveling across North America with Jack White and jetting to Europe in October, we’re looking forward to some quality time back home with our loved ones this holiday season…but not before we spend some quality time in the studio and hit a few more US cities in the next month!

Making Progress in the Studio…

Since the release of Middle of Everywhere, we’ve been working on new material and making steady progress on a full-length studio album you can expect in 2013! Many of these songs have been debuted on the road, but last week we hunkered down and spent some time in the studio. We’re incredibly excited about these new tunes, and we can’t wait to get them to y’all in record form…stay tuned for more updates and sneak previews coming your way soon!

Wrapping up 2012 with US Tour Dates in November and December

We’re heading east in just a few short days…our friends The Dirt Daubers will join us for shows on November 15 and 16, where we’ll be laying down tunes at The Grey Eagle (Asheville, NC) and Berkeley Cafe (Raleigh, NC), respectively. Then we’re heading on over to Charlotte, NC where we’ll play The Evening Muse on November 17 before skipping down to Atlanta for a gig at The Five Spot on November 18!

Come December, we’ll be breezing through the upper Midwest. You can catch us in Chicago on December 6 (Schubas), Milwaukee on December 7 (The Hotel Foster) and Stoughton, WI on December 8 (Stoughton Opera House). We’ll make one last pit stop in Louisville, KY (Headliner’s Music Hall) on December 14 before heading home for some holiday R&R time.

Making More Waves on Public Radio…

This fall we had the opportunity to take part in two excellent public radio shows. The first was witheTown, a non-profit organization with a focus on sustainability awareness and civic empowerment. We were invited for a live session this fall which was syndicated through NPR and public radio stations all across the globe! For those who missed the broadcast, you can access a free podcast of the program by following this link. Additionally, there are several videos from our eTown session here!

We were also recorded for the NPR-syndicated Mountain Stage radio show at the Paramount Theatrein Bristol, Tennesse! Wanda Jackson, Connie Smith and JD McPherson also took part in the program…it was quite the night, and we hope you had a chance to tune in and listen to the broadcast on one of the many local affiliates worldwide. In case you couldn’t catch it, you can stream the broadcast here!

New Years Eve at the Ryman

Don’t worry folks, we won’t be out of sight for ALL the holidays this winter…as a matter of fact, we’ll be getting down in a big way to ring in the New Year! This New Year’s Eve we’re joining Old Crow Medicine Show for a show at the Ryman Auditoriumin Nashville, Tennessee.

We were honored to play on Jools Holland’s televised program ‘Hootenanny’ for last year’s New Years Eve, but between the rich history of the Ryman and the musical prowess of Old Crow, ringing in 2013 is sure to be a riot as well!

Reflections on our European Tour

This past October, we had the pleasure of touring through the Western parts of Europe. We visited France for the very first time, and thoroughly enjoyed our sets in Nancy and Paris! Of course it was great to tread through England, Scotland, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands again as well. We truly appreciate the enthusiasm of our fans in these regions, so thanks to all who came out and made for an undeniably lively time abroad!

We had a bit of down time in Dublin and a couple of us had the chance to get a cut and shave at the fabulously classic Waldorf Barbershop. See the full newsletter for some photos from our stop at the Waldorf!

…and a New Record For Sale Online!

We recently released a new album of all live material, Live in Holland, which is now available for sale worldwide, includingour website’s online store.

The tracks were all taken from one live show, when we played Amsterdam’s Paradiso in the spring of this year…what a great time that was–we’re glad it’s captured on record and we hope you enjoy it!

Howdy y’all,

We’re writing to ya from the tour trail yet again and we’ve got plenty of fun stories from the road this month. Before we get to that though, we want to remind our friends in Europe that we’re hopping a plane to come play for y’all in just a few short days!

Our European tour is right around the corner…

We try to make it across the Atlantic as often as possible, but be sure to come out and say hello this October if you can! We’re excited to perform in France for the first time on this tour, and we’ll be starting things off in Nancy at Chapiteau de la Pepiniere as part of the NancyJazz Pulsations festival on October 14. Then we’ll head to cities such as Antwerp, Belgium (Trix) and Amsterdam (People’s Place) before heading back for our last pit stop in France (La Fleche d’or in Paris).

Fans in the UK, fear not! We’ve got several shows in your region, as well. We’re ecstatic to play a set at KOKO in London, which has been around since 1900 and boasts some pretty beautiful architecture. Needless to say, we hope you can make it out to Camden Town for this one. Also, don’t miss us in cities in the UK such as Liverpool (The Kazimier), and Glasgow, Scotland (Oran Mor). In Ireland we’re excited to take the stage in Belfast (The Empire Music Hall), Cork (Crane Lane Theatre with the Cork Jazz Festival), Sligo (The Model), and Dublin (Whelan’s).

Phew! It’ll be quite a whirlwind, but we love traveling the roads and playing for the people in these parts. Our last tour through Western Europe was such a ball and we were thrilled by the energy of the crowds, so we truly can’t wait to see all you folks again. Be sure to check below for more details and links to tickets, or else check our website for our full schedule.

Be sure to check out our NEW live album!

If you make it out to one of our shows in Europe, don’t forget that we’ve just released a new album of live recordings from our previous tour through Holland. This album is special to us, so we hope you can pick it up at one of our shows or grab it online. We love playing shows more than anything and we’re happy to have the energy of our sets in Holland on record—we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

If you reside in the states, be on the look out for the Live in Holland album, as it will be available shortly in America on November 20.

Wrapping up the Blunderbuss tour: Radio City & more…

Since the start of Jack White’s Blunderbuss tour, we’ve had the pleasure of playing opening sets across the US and Canada. This month we had an absolute blast performing for sold out crowds at the one and only Radio City Music Hall in New York City! My, what a time that was, and we hope to be back soon.

Some of our absolute favorite spots touring with Jack were our dates in Canada, where we played the Sony Centre in Toronto and Montreal’s L’Olympia Theatre…the crowd in Montreal was fabulous and made for a seriously rip roarin’ time. This review from the Montreal Gazette even honored us with the designation of “one of the best opening bands to have passed through this city in a very long time”…thanks, Montreal, we can’t wait to come through again!

More US Shows in November & December

After our journey to Europe we’ll be slowin’ down the show schedule a bit, but we’re making sure to see our friends in Asheville, NC (Grey Eagle), Raleigh, NC (The Berkeley Café), Charlotte, NC (The Evening Muse), and Atlanta, GA (The Five Spot). For our hometown fans, you can catch Pokey playing a solo set in St. Louis at The Sheldon Concert Hall with Ryan Spearman on November 30.

Come December, we’ll be taking a short trip through the Midwest where we’ll play in Chicago (Schubas), Stoughton, WI (Stoughton Opera House) and Louisville, KY (Headliner’s Music Hall). Then we’re off to good ol’ Nashville for our New Years Eve show with Old Crow Medicine Show at the historic Ryman Theater!

Honoring Woody Guthrie’s Centennial…

As you may know, 2012 marks Woody Guthrie’s 100th birthday; folk musicians and enthusiasts everywhere are working to properly honor this most notable folk legend on his special anniversary. We took a little time a couple of weeks back to shoot a video of our rendition of Guthrie’s “Do Re Mi”. Have a look on our Youtube page, and subscribe while you’re at it!

Thank you to our dedicated and lovely fans who keep us moving town to town…we hope to see ya soon at one of our gigs in Europe or America. Should you be interested in our merchandise, visit our website and have a look! Also, keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter for more frequent updates of what we’re getting into. Here’s to another great month!

See you down the road,

Check out our September newsletter below for tons of announcements…we’ve sure got an exciting fall coming our way! For a full version of the newsletter, follow this link.

Howdy friends,

We’ve got some huge announcements for ya in this month’s newsletter installment! As we continue treading our tour path through the west coast (and having a grand time of it!), we wanted to stop and take a minute to fill you in about more exciting news for the coming weeks…

Boardwalk Empire to feature a recording by Pokey LaFarge!

That’s right y’all; not too long ago, Pokey had the chance to record a couple of tracks for the hit HBO series Boardwalk Empire, starring Steve Buscemi and produced by none other than Martin Scorsese. We’re so excited to announce that one of these tracks (“Lovesick Blues”, recorded with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks) will be played in the second episode of the current season! The episode is scheduled to air on Sunday, September 23 on the HBO network, so be sure to tune in and hear Pokey’s contribution to this phenomenal series. Empire has been the recipient of Emmy and Golden Globe awards among much other critical praise…including a Grammy for Best Soundtrack for Visual Media. Needless to say, it’s a huge honor and we hope y’all can catch the episode in a couple of weeks!

Radio City Music Hall and More Touring with Jack White

We’ve been lucky enough to blaze the tour trail with Jack White this summer, playing dates scattered around the American west and even gracing the stage at Red Rocks…and now we’ve got even more gigs on the Blunderbuss tour coming soon! First off, we’re excited to be a part of not one, but TWO shows at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on September 29 and 30! Jack’s tour has taken us some stellar places, and we’re so humbled to have more opportunities to play with him–especially at a venue as historic and iconic as Radio City. We hope to see you there!

In addition, we’ll be opening up for Jack in Canada at L’Olympia in Montreal on October 2 and at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto on October 3 and 4. Then we’ll join forces in Atlanta (Fox Theatre on October 9), Jackson, Tennessee (Carl Perkins Civic Centeron October 10), and finally in Tulsa (Cain’s Ballroom on October 12). We must admit we’re really excited to play Cain’s Ballroom; this place has an incredibly rich musical history and is where the legendary Bob Wills spent much of time helping to evolve the traditions of Western swing, blues, jazz, honky tonk and more. It’s quite a dream come true!

Heading back to St. Louis for more than R&R…

This time, our jaunt home to St. Louis in late September will include a show at one of our favorite South City spots, Off Broadway!

The show is Friday, September 28 with doors opening up at 7pm and Colonol Ford starting things off. We’re hoping to see a whole lot of familiar faces; our friends at home have been so supportive of our work and we owe y’all so much…the least we can give you is one killer night of tunes!

Be sure to get your tickets to this one ahead of time…click here for a link to purchase them online.

Special Broadcasts–Live from eTown Hall and Mountain Stage!

In just a few days, we’ll be rolling through Colorado for a very special sort of live performance! eTown Hall in Boulder, CO is a non-profit organization that hosts unique live events, featuring both music and meaningful conversations intended to inspire community action and sustainability awareness. Tickets are still available to our show at eTown, which is coming right up on September 18.

eTown performances are broadcasted through many public and commercial stations across the country, including NPR! We’re happy to a part of the organization’s inspiring mission, and we hope you can take a listen. In case you can’t catch it via radio frequency, each eTown session is posted online for your listening pleasure at etown.org in the weeks following the taping.

We’re also excited to announce that we’ll be hitting the Mountain Stage in Bristol,Tennessee with the Queen of Rockabilly, Wanda Jackson! We’ll also be joined by Connie Smith and JD McPherson for a taped live performance. The show is on October 7 and will be recorded and aired on the radio at a later date. This is such a fantastic lineup and we’re honored to share the stage with Wanda yet again–it was almost too much fun last month at Wonder Bar! Click here to grab your tickets.

Back in Europe oh-so-soon, and with a LIVE ALBUM RELEASE!

We’ve been gearing up for our next journey overseas and wanted to remind all our fans in Europe that we’ll be back this October! We’re kicking off our tour in Nancy, France at Chapiteau de la Pepiniere, and will be making the rounds through France, Belgium, the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands for the following two weeks. Take a look at the tour dates on our website for a full schedule or check out the listing below. We’ll be touring in support of a NEW live album(by the name of “Live in Holland”) that will be released on October 1 in Europe and shortly to follow in North America on November 20! The record will be released by Continental Records in Europe and by Free Dirt Records in America. We’re happy to put out a live album, as live performance is one of our favorite parts of the job (with all these tour dates you could only hope so!). We can’t wait to see y’all so come on out and grab yourself a record!

New Video from Welcome to the West…

When we were up in Canada for the Calgary Folk Festival, we had the chance to play a bit for the folks at Welcome to the West. They were great and so is the finished product of our session…check it out on the video page ofpokeylafarge.net or on their website here. Thanks to the talented folks that made this come together!
